Authentic low profile bed frames are the plain metal bedrail frames.  These bed frames sit one to three inches off the floor.  These low profile bed frames are available in all sizes, most are adjustable, also.  The larger frames should have center support rails.  Depending on the support provided, a box spring is usually necessary.  They are often produced with wheels, casters, or glides to facilitate moving the bed.
